Exercises for: A Wide Back
1. The Wide Grip Pull Up
The exercise that will give you the most value for effort. The wide grip pull up allows you maximum stretch of the lats while using your own bodyweight.
*If your own bodyweight is too difficult at the moment you could use a resistance band to stand in, wrapped around the pull up bar.
2. The Lat Pulldown
The seated version of a pull-up. It created the same type of movement as the pull-up. Make sure to keep good form by not going to heavy, squeezing your lats as you try to 'pull your elbows in your pants' pockets' and slowly allow the weight to go up
3. Pull-Over Machine
This machine is an old school exercise! Not every gym has one but if yours does, you are lucky. This machine allows your lats to stretch at its maximum by holding the bar and pulling the machine down. A staple exercise in a lot of old school bodybuilders' training program!
